In an effort to support America's veterans transitioning from the battlefield to the boardroom, the Houston Chapter of Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO), along with Rice University's Veterans in Business Association (VIBA), are proud to announce the EO-Houston Veterans Business Battle.
Ensure that you meet all qualifications for entry, as detailed below:
- Complete the application that describes your business idea, including an optional video pitch.
- Applications must be submitted through this website by January 15, along with a scanned copy of the business owners DD Form 214 document from the U.S. Military indicating he or she was honorably discharged.
- Applicants must be residents of the United States.

ABOUT THE COMPETITION
This business plan competition is dedicated to creating and growing veteran-founded businesses. Former service members will have an opportunity to pitch their business ideas to a panel of successful entrepreneurs and qualified investors for a chance at significant seed capital. The competition is open to start-ups and existing businesses ready to grow.
Finalists will be invited to the EO-Houston Veterans Business Battle on February 28 at Rice University, where they will present their business idea to investors who are capable and eager to support veterans and entrepreneurship in all shapes and sizes.
To be considered for the competition, all applicant companies must be founded and operated by honorably discharged military veterans. Contestants must reside in the United States.
All types of businesses are encouraged. Prizes and awards will be given for the most viable and promising business, but the objective of this competition is to launch as many businesses as possible.
Finalists will be evaluated and invited to the EO Veterans Business Battle based on the quality of their business summary application and the potential viability of their business. Additional consideration will be given to businesses that will provide employment or benefit military veterans.
